Karbonn Mobiles have launched two new budget friendly handsets the Karbonn A1 Star and the Karbonn A5 star with a price tag of Rs. 3,890 and Rs. 4,890. Both these handsets are powered by single core processor with dual SIM support.
Karbonn Smart A1 Star
This dual SIM handset comes with 3.5 inch screen with 480×320 pixels resolution. It is powered by 1GHz singe core processor running Android ICS OS. RAM is 256MB and internal storage is under 200MB (163MB). There is 3MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera. This low cost android handset supports 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Battery is 1450 mAh capacity. Karbonn A1 Star is priced at Rs. 3,890 – via Flipkart.
Karbonn Smart A5 Star
The A5 star houses a 1GHz single core processor with 256MB RAM running Android 2.3 OS over a 3.2 inch screen with 480×320 pixels resolution. This handset comes with 3.2MP primary camera and a secondary camera of VGA resolution. RAM is 256MB and internal storage is 104MB.
It is a dual SIM handset with an outdated OS but with 3G support that is lacking on the A1 Star. The battery is 1200 mAh. Other features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Karbonn A5 Star is priced at Rs. 4,890 – via Flipkart.

There are some dual core handsets with MT6572 chipset that supports 3G and are priced under 5500 and running 4.2 OS which could be a better option than these Karbonn Smart Star handsets.
